Importance
Health insurance coverage helps patients get into the health care system. Uninsured people are less likely to receive medical care, more likely to die early and more likely to have poor health status.

Where We Are
In 2012, 15% of adults in Douglas County under the age of 65 years reported not having health insurance. Douglas County had an uninsured rate higher than the State of Kansas and lower than the U.S. in 2013.

Health Disparities
