Obesity is an indicator of the overall health and lifestyle of a community. Obesity increases the risk of many diseases and health conditions, including:

  • Stroke
  • Type 2 diabetes
Where We Are
In 2013, 20.3% of adults in Douglas County reported a body mass index greater than or equal to 30. The percent in Douglas County was lower than the State of Kansas and the U.S. in 2013.

Lowered to 30.6%.
