Informatics

With using data to support decision making as one priority of the Strategic Plan, Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health in recent years has taken several steps to ensure it was position to collect and interpret various data in the community that influences people’s ability to live healthy lives and to address social determinants of health.

The formation of the Informatics Department in 2018 was a key development to help streamline the collection and analysis of external and internal data. The department helps inform both the work and performance of Public Health and its service to clients and Douglas County residents as well as analyzing data regarding infectious disease and population health epidemiology.

The Informatics Department in 2018 led the work that became the first Douglas County Health Equity Report, and you can view data related to health equity and the Douglas County Community Health Plan in the Healthier Together platform.
