As of November 17th, COVID-19 booster shots are recommended for ALL adults vaccinated at least 6 months prior. Children ages 12+ who received the Pfizer vaccine are also approved for boosters after 5 months.
Individuals who fall into the following categories should be especially concerned about increasing their COVID-19 protection by getting a COVID booster shot:
- 65 years and older
- Ages 18 and older living in long-term care settings
- Ages 18+ with underlying medical conditions(diabetes, pregnancy, etc)
- Ages 18+ who work in high-risk settings(restaurant, grocery store, etc.)
- Ages 18+ who live in high-risk settings(congregate/communal living)
If you received the vaccination shots at least 6 months ago (5 for Pfizer) and fall into one of these categories, you should get a booster shot, which will enhance your protection.
