See where Lawrence candidates stand on Tobacco 21, addressing health inequities

Candidate Health Forum

The six Lawrence City Commission candidates Joey Hentzler, Rob Sands, Stuart Boley, Courtney Shipley, Ken Easthouse and Brad Finkeldei participated in the Sept. 12 forum "Health Policies in Lawrence" co-sponsored by the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department and LMH Health.

The candidates at the Lawrence Public Library Auditorium discussed their views on Tobacco 21, affordable housing and health outcomes, health equity and their priorities in the Douglas County Community Health Plan. They also answered questions from the audience on homelessness and the health disparities identified by racial demographics. Director Dan Partridge moderated the forum, and Health Board Chair Steve Fawcett provided the introduction.
