Operating a screening and testing site in east Lawrence is an effort by Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to streamline its approach to COVID-19 screenings requested by local healthcare providers and to improve access for vulnerable populations.

The site available by appointment through an order by a physician or Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health. With recently relaxed testing protocols, we encourage anyone currently experiencing symptoms related to COVID-19 to contact his or her primary care physician. Always call first before showing up at a provider.

Anyone without a primary care provider can call the Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health Coronavirus hotline, 785-856-4343. We have nurses online to provide initial screening and if needed, directions on how to get tested at our site.

The site is at 1941 Haskell Ave. in the Lawrence Douglas County Fire Medical Training Center. Those approved for an appointment time can turn in their vehicle from Haskell Avenue onto Rescue Drive. Follow the cones, which will direct you to pull into an open bay door.
