As part of the contact-tracing and disease-investigation process, Lawrence-Douglas County Public Health epidemiologists have identified several cases who have tested positive for COVID-19 in recent days and reported they were present at The Hawk, 1340 Ohio St. the evenings of either Friday, June 19, or Saturday, June 20.

“We’d ask anyone who was there last weekend to monitor for potential COVID-19 symptoms. We believe the source of exposure for some of these cases occurred before they visited The Hawk, but we would consider them contagious during this time frame,” said Informatics Director Sonia Jordan. “We are not confident in being able to identify everyone who was there and might have come in close contact with people who were contagious, so we have released this information.”

The Hawk on Friday was confirmed as the site of an outbreak due to having two or more cases (not in the same household) with the same identified source of exposure, Jordan said.
