Jenn Preston has worked with children and families for more than 10 years. She’s currently Family and Senior Support Services Supervisor for the Health Department’s Project LIVELY, Healthy Families and Healthy Dads programs. Among her responsibilities are program development, staff supervision and community collaboration.

Jenn is a peer reviewer for Healthy Families America. As a reviewer, she conducts on-site visits with another peer to see if facilities are meeting accreditation standards and her recommendations are sent to a national panel for consideration. Jenn also is an active member on the Douglas County Child Abuse Prevention Task Force.

Graduating from the University of Kansas, Jenn received a bachelor’s degree in human development and family life and a master’s degree in social work administration and advocacy practices. For three years, Jenn was a research assistant for a KU Early Childhood and Youth Development study, and then she was a parent educator for Parents as Teachers in Northeast Kansas. Before joining the Health Department in 2013, she worked for Kansas Children’s Service League in the Healthy Families program.

When she’s not working, Jenn enjoys antiquing, traveling, spending time with friends, family and her dogs.
