Mobile Clinic

It looks a bit like a camper van but inside it is a state-of-the-art medical facility. The Mobile Clinic can travel throughout Douglas County and bring basic health care services to residents in a way which is both accessible and affordable. Potential services include:

  • Immunizations
  • Routine Check-ups
  • STD/STI Testing
  • Vaccinations

Since this initiative is new, we are still figuring out which locations the Mobile Clinic should go to and what services it should provide. Currently it visits the Lawrence Community Shelter once a month to provide no-cost on-site clinical services to LCS guests experiencing homelessness.

In the future we are looking to find new opportunities to use the Mobile Clinic to increase equitable access to health throughout Douglas County.

While these pictures look like a typical doctor's office, these are actually the two clinic rooms inside of the Mobile Clinic. These rooms are designed for comfort and privacy. The Mobile Clinic is fully equipped with air conditioning, electricity, wifi, and a bathroom. Once inside you'll probably forget that you're in a vehicle.
